1982 � First Chicago National Bank acquires Bankers Trust portfolio, including 900,000 new accounts.
1984 � First Card moves from Manhattan to present facility in Uniondale
1996 � First Chicago National Bank mergers with National Bank of Detroit to become FIRST CHICAGO
NBD.
1998 � First Card merger with First USA (a division of Bank One)
1998 � Uniondale consolidates organization to align with FUSA call centers
1999 � Uniondale CMS converts to First Assist/First Image and CSD converts to First Response
2000 � Announcement to close Uniondale Site June 1, 2000

Significant Accomplishments

1999 New York State Vanguard Award Winner � recognizing innovative recruitment practices
Significant contributions to United Way of Long Island, cumulating in the receipt of The Employer of the
Year Award in 1996 and 1998
. This award recognized efforts to integrate United Way activities and
promote better understanding of services provided to our community.
1998 New York State Disabilities Association Regional Employer of the Year Award � recognizing
efforts to integrate visually impaired employees into our workforce.
Multiple Community Initiatives included:
- Annual donation to local orphanages of gifts that we purchased and decorated by employees
- Annual participation in the L.I.V.E. Program (Long Island Volunteer Enterprise), providing employee
participation in local community improvement programs
- Partnership with local high schools to provide exposure to the work environment via Intern Programs
- Long term tenure of many of our employees (exempt -10.7 years/ non exempt -4.5 years/total average
tenure - 5.3 years)
- Commitment to treating people with dignity and respect
